“Saturday at the Turf, Hideo Takahashi and Yuichiro Matthew Kazama debut their newly released sophomore album, “The Minnesota: Mouth to Mouth.” Takahashi and Kazama, who record as the Birthday Suits, quickly earned a reputation for the fiery live shows that grew out of their 2005 debut, “Cherry Blue.” This show comes at the end of a month they spent on a nationwide tour, including a handful of gigs at South by Southwest. It’s tempting to label them noise punks, as they do play their share of squealing, abrasive songs. But “The Minnesota,” which flies by with its brisk 22-minute running time, also reveals the more playful melodic side suggested by the duo’s name.”
